BEEF BREEDS

Beefmaster
Beefmaster cattle are predictable, which is a key ingredient in the success of the breed. Beefmaster Breeders United (BBU) is currently the 4th largest beef breed due to the six essential traits of Beefmaster cattle: weight, conformation, fertility, hardiness, disposition, and milking ability. Strong maternal traits and ease of calving are two traits quickly noted by new breeders.

Hereford
"The Hereford cattle are renowned for their ability to adapt to a wide range of environments" says the American Hereford Association. "From the high desert country to the humid, semi-tropicals, they thrive...[and] their gentle disposition is a highly valued trait..."

Romagnola
The Romagnola (ro-men-ola) descended from the Northern mountains of Italy. The Italian breeders referred to them as "The Goats," because of their unusual ability as foragers. The breed is derived from the wild ox, and have been used for draft stock, meat, and milk production prior to the 1800's.
