Louisiana Beefmaster Breeders Association - History No breed of beef cattle is more "right" for the Louisiana cattle producer than Beefmaster. Beefmasters fit the climate, perform superbly on forage, produce heavy weaning calves, and are remarkably trouble free. For these reasons and others, Louisiana has grown to become the nation's second largest producer of Beefmaster cattle. Since 1990, Beefmaster breeders have become a unified force networking for the effective promotion and improvement of Beefmaster cattle in Louisiana. On April 5th, 1996, the Louisiana Beefmaster Breeders Association and the North Louisiana Beefmaster Breeders Association merged to form the current Louisiana Beefmaster Breeders Association (LBBA), a primary satellite of Beefmaster Breeders United (BBU). The association now represents over 150 families state wide. The officers and directors involved in the merge are as follows: Officers President - J.H. Estes Vice-President - Kendall McKenzie Treasurer - Louis Cook Secretaries - Alma Fulco, Barbara Guidry
Directors John Smith Ray Fulco Dr. Pete Hathorn David Domengeaux Huel Haymon Woodrow Guidry Mel Jackson R. Schamerhorn Wayne McNabb
Honorary Directors Cecil Pevoto Conway LeBlew
