Dear Friends and Fellow Beefmaster Breeders,

It is my pleasure to witness the growth in membership and excitement within the Louisiana Beefmaster Breeders Association and Beefmaster Breeders United.  As you are aware, our breed is now the fourth largest beef breed, and rapidly growing.  With this growth we have seen a rapidly expanding marketplace, particularly in the North.

In addition to the services provided by BBU's commercial marketing director, and the new Branded Beef Program (which is currently placing Beefmaster beef on the shelf in several major grocery chains), we have also established an Internet web site along with BBU, and in conjunction with our sister associations, Central States BBA, and Arkansas BBA.  I am excited about the prospects of the Internet relative to the ease of information dissemination, and the enhanced exposure it will provide for both the LBBA and its individual members.

Your secretary, Paulette Adam, is providing our Internet host, Cowman's Choice, with a membership listing and other important information relative to LBBA.  If you have not already paid your membership dues, I encourage you to do so, thereby ensuring that you are eligible to receive the greatest exposure for your ranch while simultaneously promoting Louisiana Beefmaster Breeders Association, and the Beefmaster breed as a whole.  Contact Cowman's Choice regarding the establishment of a ranch website for your Beefmaster operation.  Your board and I have reviewed the Basic Marketing Program being offered by the agency, and we believe that this will provide you with maximum exposure for minimal expense.

I look forward to the future with great excitement.

Sincerely,

Louis DeBlanc
