About Us

Tim Couch Beefmasters is the breeding program of Tim & Beverly Couch. We are located between Paris and Sulphur Springs, Texas, and produce some of the finest Beefmaster cattle in the breed today.

Since 1995, Tim has served as a herd and sale consultant throughout the Beefmaster breed. He has pioneered various marketing tools within the industry, and serves on various committees for Beefmaster Breeders United (BBU). Tim Couch is the founder of Cowman's Choice, an international marketing agency for live cattle, semen, and embryos; the company has represented numerous registered breeders and breed associations throughout North America. Tim Couch is an honorary member of the International Zebu Breeders Association (IZBA), and has received formal endorsement by Central States Beefmaster Breeders (CSBBA), Arkansas Beefmaster Breeders Association (ABBA), Louisiana Beefmaster Breeders Association (LBBA).

Cowman's Choice offers order buying services, herd consultation, sale consultation, advertising and photography assistance as well as many other services. We have represented and provided such consultation to numerous registered programs. Within the Beefmaster breed alone, this list would include (but not limited to) the following: Harrod Farms, Happy Days Beefmasters, White Rock Ranch, Louis Hoffer, The Cajun Connection, The Beefmaster Alliance, M2 Cattle Company, Dry Creek, Dun Rovin' Ranch, Valley Ranch, Roy Barrera Jr., Cotton & Davis Beefmasters, and many others.

Having worked with both dairy and beef breeds, from commercial / grade cattle to the highest of the registered stock, we have dealt with most everything in the cattle industry from some aspect or another. We have been associated with numerous breeds of cattle and find that Beefmaster cattle are the most productive, gentle, performance-packed, adaptable, heat & drought tolerant, disease resistant, and beautiful to the eye. We are breeders of Beefmaster cattle exclusively, and have no intention of changing.

Tim Couch Beefmasters is focused on the production of genetically superior and proven Beefmasters with clean lines, heavy muscling, great fertility, excellent performance, and black hides whenever possible. We concentrate on quality first and have the breed's Six Essentials (Weight, Conformation, Milking Ability, Fertility, Hardiness and Disposition) at the foundation of our program.

Our breeding program consists primarily of an embryo transfer (ET) program joined with AI breeding and some limited natural service breeding (using such bulls as Achilles, Black Reign, and Black Fever). Our ET program has incorporated such exceptional herd sires as Black Magic, Cavalier, Legend, Infinity, Quasar, and others. Our conception rate from ET work has averaged at approximately 86%, and our AI conception rate has been close to 90%. We set up all flush work and manage such operations here on the farm. We have utilized the services of such renowned individuals as Dr. Dan Miller and Todd Whitesell (formerly M&W Cattle Services, now associated with Ultimate Genetics), John Broadway, and Shane Bellow (of Ovagenix). We strongly recommend these individuals and thank them for their services, support, and guidance in their area of specialization.

Tim & Beverly represent over 50 years of active experience in the cattle business, and though we don't claim to know everything, we do have a validly acquired reputation for honesty. Honestly, we'll give you a superior quality product without robbing your bank, and we'll couple that with sound advice and a truthful opinion. We aren't necessarily here to tell you what you want to hear, rather we're here to ensure your success. As we ensure your success, we solidify our own. There's no use in wasting time, energy, and money going down a path that leads only to meager profits (or no profits) or chasing after a fantasy that someone has provided you.
