Tim Couch Beefmasters is dedicated to your success. It is our passion to do all that is within our ability to ensure that you are successful as a breeder. That you have and produce a superior quality product, that your profit margin is maximized, and that your knowledge level is heightened through contact with us. Not that we believe we know all things, or can answer every question that could possibly be raised. However, we do have a cumulative total of over 50 active years as breeders, sale consultants, herd consultants, and herd management. We have dealt with numerous beef and dairy breeds, but have consistently maintained a herd of registered Beefmaster cattle. We've established a market demand and kept that market demand in place so you won't have to do it. It's already there, and you will profit from it!

Tim Couch Beefmasters is the breeding program of Tim & Beverly Couch. We are located between Paris and Sulphur Springs, Texas, and produce some of the finest Beefmaster cattle in the breed today.

We have provided cosultation and marketing services for numerous producers from various breeds, yet we have concentrated on the Beefmaster breed because we believe that the Beefmaster cattle are the best we have found. Having worked with many leading producers within the Beefmaster breed, a common task has been to change flaling cattle operations into productive, money-making programs that make folks proud. A partial list of breeders who have received consultation and marketing services from us includes the following: Harrod Farms, Valley Ranch, Cotton & Davis Beefmasters, Thunder Valley Ranch, Happy Days Beefmasters, Ely 6J Beefmasters, Hood's Hidden Hollow, V6 Ranch, Dun Rovin' Ranch, White Rock Ranch, and many others.

Putting years of experience and contacts into service for you, we re-established our registered Beefmaster herd a few years back, and we are now actively involved in the breed as producers of superior quality Beefmasters. We offer the finest of multi-generational black genetics, and exceptional black progeny from leading red genetics. However, we also offer extraordinary red and paint Beefmasters, polled or horned (dehorned, of course).

Our breeding program is mainly an embryo transfer (ET) program complimented by artificial insemination (AI). We do all of our AI and ET work here on the ranch, and with lots of TLC and attention to detail we've been pleased to show an average annual conception rate of approximately 85% with our AI conception rate being equally as good.

We use only the finest of commercial recips with a heavy emphasis on fertility, calving ease, milk production, and good disposition. Beefmaster females (registered or commercial) are used as recipients at every opportunity in order to better support the breed; after all, we truly do believe the Beefmaster is the best momma cow you can own. Additionally, for the sake of availability and cost, we have introduced some good females that were not of the Beefmaster influence. Brangus and other Brahman influenced cattle have been placed into our recipient herd, and are present to this date. In addition to the criteria already stated, Tim Couch Beefmasters has a strict policy relative to our recips: if they fail to take an embryo two times, they are sold.

Our objective in breeding is NOT to produce black hided Beefmasters. Our objective is to produce tremendous cattle, exhibiting the six essentials of the Beefmaster breed, as well as other traits that will meet the market demands in order to enhance our profit margin. We believe it is single trait selection (a big mistake) to select cattle on the color of their hide alone. Equally, it is a mistake for anyone to cull or reject great cattle simply because of a black hide. So, we trust that if you have not formerly been inclined towards black Beefmasters that you will reconsider this in light of the incredible cattle we offer.

At a Beefmaster Breeders United (BBU) convention seminar one year, we heard a very intelligent man say that he was going to "produce superior quality cattle, and if the market wants them in purple with green stripes, then by-golly, that's exactly how they were going to get them." Well, I haven't had anyone asking good purple cattle with green stripes, and that's good because I don't have any ready for them. However, I regularly have people requesting exceptional black Beefmasters, red Beefmasters, and paint Beefmasters; both herd sires / herd sire prospects and donors / donor prospects. So, that's what we produce, exceptional Beefmaster cattle that display incredible power, exellence of conformation and performance, and genetics that are proven, predictable, and promoted.
